The Chrome Extension That Turns Netflix into a Bingo Night
Playing bingo during a show usually means one of three bad outcomes: you switch between tabs and miss scenes, you cover half your screen with a phone app, or you fumble with a printed paper card and a pen. BingWow's Chrome extension fixes all of that. It opens as a side panel directly next to your video. Netflix plays on the left. Bingo lives on the right. Nothing gets covered, nothing gets interrupted.
What Is the Side Panel?
Chrome's native side panel is a docked sidebar that coexists with your main tab. Unlike a popup (which disappears the moment you click elsewhere) or a new tab (which replaces your streaming tab), the side panel stays persistently visible alongside whatever you're watching.
The BingWow extension uses this to give you a permanent bingo companion. Your bingo card sits at the edge of your screen — always there, never in the way. Tap a clue, go back to watching. The game runs in the background without demanding your full attention.
How to Install
- Visit the Chrome Web Store — Search “BingWow” or click the direct install link below.
- Click “Add to Chrome” — It installs in seconds. No permissions beyond what it needs.
- The BingWow icon appears in your toolbar — Pin it so it's always one click away.
- Click the icon to open the side panel — Done. Total setup time: under 30 seconds.
Once installed, the extension is always available in your toolbar. It doesn't run in the background unless you've opened the side panel.
Playing While Streaming
The workflow is exactly what you'd want it to be. Open Netflix (or Hulu, YouTube, Disney+, whatever you're watching) → click the BingWow icon in your toolbar → your side panel opens → browse cards or open a saved one → play.
When you spot a moment on screen, tap the clue in the side panel. The video keeps playing. No tab switching, no screen sharing, no awkward pauses. If you're playing multiplayer, your claim registers for everyone instantly and the activity feed updates in the side panel.
Real-time multiplayer works exactly as it does on the full BingWow site — persistent connections, instant claims, late-join support. The side panel is just a different viewport into the same game.
Best Cards for Streaming
BingWow's card library has hundreds of options built specifically for streaming. Some favorites:
- Reality TV — Love Is Blind, Survivor, The Bachelor, Love Island, The Traitors
- Movie tropes — Action movie clichés, horror movie bingo, rom-com moments
- Sports — NFL game day, World Cup, March Madness, NBA playoffs
- Award shows — Oscars, Grammys, Emmys (the acceptance speech topics basically write themselves)
- Talk shows & podcasts — Any show with recurring guests and reliable formats
If you don't find exactly what you want, create a custom card at /create — type your show name and BingWow's AI generates themed clues in seconds. Then open it in the extension.
Playing with Friends Remotely
This is where the extension gets genuinely powerful for remote watch parties. Here's the setup:
- Open BingWow in the side panel and start a multiplayer game.
- Share the room code in your group chat, Discord server, or watch party thread.
- Friends open BingWow in their browser (or their own extension) and join with the code.
- Everyone watches the same show on their own screen while competing in the same bingo game.
No one needs to screenshare. No one needs a special watch party platform. You each watch on your own subscription, and the bingo game ties the experience together. It's the thing that makes a remote watch party feel like a room full of people.
Works on Any Website
The side panel isn't limited to streaming services. It works on any website — sports score pages, YouTube live streams, Twitch, news sites, Zoom (for remote team meeting bingo), Google Meet, whatever. As long as Chrome is open and your side panel is active, you can play BingWow alongside it. The extension doesn't know or care what's in the main tab.
