Privacy Policy

1. What We Collect

• Display nameA name you choose yourself (or one we auto-generate for you). Not your real name. Used only to identify you within a game session.
• Game activityClue claims, bingo events, chat messages, and reactions made during gameplay. Stored to reconstruct the activity feed for players who join mid-game.
• Email address (optional)Only if you create an account. Used for authentication and to save your stats across games. Never required to play.
• Usage analyticsAnonymous event data (e.g. “game started”, “bingo claimed”) collected via Amplitude to help us understand how the game is used. No personal information is attached to these events.

2. Chrome Extension

The BingWow Chrome extension enables a side-panel experience while you watch. Here is exactly what it does and does not do:

• Tab detectionThe extension checks the domain of your active tab to detect when you are on a supported streaming site (Netflix, Hulu, etc.) so it can surface the right show. For most streaming sites, it reads only the domain name.
• Netflix playback syncOn Netflix watch pages, the extension reads playback state (video ID, current timestamp, play/pause status) to synchronize bingo gameplay with what you're watching. This data is used locally to power the game experience and is not stored on our servers or shared with third parties.
• Header modificationThe extension removes X-Frame-Options response headers from bingwow.com only. This is required to embed BingWow inside the Chrome side panel. No other sites are affected.
• What the extension never doesIt does not collect your browsing history, read page content beyond playback state, or transmit any data about the sites you visit to third parties.

The use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

3. How We Use Your Data

• Run the gameDisplay names and game activity power the live multiplayer experience — boards, claims, chat, and the activity feed.
• Improve BingWowAnonymous analytics help us understand which features are working and which are not.
• Account featuresEmail is used only for sign-in, password reset, and linking your win stats to your profile.

We do not sell your data to third parties. We do not use your data for advertising.

We use cookies only for authentication sessions (to keep you signed in). We do not use tracking cookies or advertising cookies. If you play as a guest, no cookies are set for your account — only browser localStorage is used to remember your display name within your session.

6. Data Retention

Game rooms and their associated data (players, claims, chat) are automatically expired after 24 hours of inactivity and permanently deleted after 7 days. If you create an account, your profile and stats are retained until you delete your account.

7. Your Rights

You can delete your account at any time from your account settings, which removes your profile and associated data. To request deletion of specific game data, or if you have any privacy questions, email us at hello@bingwow.com.

8. Children

BingWow is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The effective date at the top of this page will reflect when it was last updated. Continued use of BingWow after changes means you accept the updated policy.
