About This Data
This tracker displays normalized Google Trends search interest data for 20 EdTech and classroom engagement tools, covering the period from January 2019 to the present. Data is sourced from the Google Trends API via SerpAPI and refreshed every Monday.
Interest values are on Google's 0-100 normalized scale, where 100 represents peak popularity for the selected term during the chosen time period. Values are relative, not absolute — a score of 50 means the term was half as popular as its peak.
All data is filtered to US searches. International trends may differ significantly, particularly for tools like Quizizz (strong in India and Southeast Asia) and Wooclap (strong in Europe).

Key Findings
- Blooket overtook Kahoot in US search interest in January 2026, after growing 6,300% from near-zero in 2019. Full analysis in the EdTech Engagement Report.
- Gimkit is the most impressive bootstrap in EdTech — created as a high school project with $0 VC, now matching Quizizz ($145M raised) in search interest.
- The COVID baseline permanently elevated interest in all engagement tools. The floor for most tools is 30-40% higher than pre-pandemic levels.
- Bingo card searches doubled since 2019, with "bingo card generator" growing faster than "bingo cards" — a signal of market maturation from content consumption to content creation.
- Virtual team building grew 736% from pre-pandemic levels and never returned to baseline. "Office bingo" reached its all-time Google Trends high in February 2026, while "gamification employee engagement" hit its all-time high in March 2026. Full analysis in the HR Team Building Report.
- Watch party searches hit an all-time high in April 2026 (+383% since 2019), but every major platform offers only synchronized playback and text chat — zero of 9 audited platforms provide interactive engagement features tied to the content being watched.
